UKáčko.cz is an on-line portal of the students of the Charles University in Prague, the largest university in the Czech Republic (approx. 50,000 readers). It was established in 2008.

Our aim is to support democracy within our academic community by providing news and channeling important discussions. Furthermore, we work to boost the social life at Charles University by covering all important events and parties.

UKáčko.cz is published by UK media, an independent students’ media association at the Charles University. UK media is officially registered in the Czech Republic as a non-profit organization.

Our journalistic independence is guaranteed through an intensive cooperation with private donors. Since September 2008, the general partner of UK media was Ernst & Young, since 2009 the main partner is PricewaterhouseCoopers.
