Prague Universities’ Hockey Finals
Once again, Prague’s four largest universities will battle for the Mayor’s cup. The team of Charles University will face University of Economics’ players. Come and show your support on Wednesday at 8 pm in Tipsport Arena in Holešovice, home of Sparta hockey team.
The first round, played in autumn, attracted more than four thousand fans that witnessed both epic struggles and retarded games during breaks, including Beer-keg curling, Ice running and more.

Charles University will be represented by the team of the Faculty of Sports (FTVS), an established contender in University league, battling The University of Economics (VŠE) for the cup. University of Life Sciences (ČZU) and The Technical University(ČVUT) will battle for bronze.
Spirits are high, as the teams are competing not only for the Prague Mayor’s Cup but also for a prize of 40 000 CZK.
“The Hockey Battle is a means to bring students together in an unusual sport setting and have fun; many other support shows and competitions will take place as well,” states the Student Union’s speaker.
Competitions which are open to everyone include, among others, Beer-keg curling, knocking down “The Cup” or Ice running.
Markéta Havelková, Student Union’s president, turns to Prague’s studentry: “Come everybody and make some noise, support our team and the University! We’ll show them who’s the best! And yes, wear red.”
